The basic sewing tools you need

If you want to sew comfortably and obtain good results, it is important to have some basic tools. You don't need to have a professional workshop to start, but you do need a small kit that allows you to work with precision and ease.
These are the essential tools that should not be missing in your sewing kit:

1. *Sewing Scissors*: Fabric scissors are one of the most important tools. They should be used exclusively for cutting fabric, since if they are used for paper or other materials they will lose their edge quickly and will no longer cut well.
2. *Needles*: There are different types of needles depending on the fabric you are going to sew. To start, universal needles are a good option because they work well with most fabrics.
3. *Pins*: Pins are used to hold the pieces of fabric together before sewing them, preventing them from moving while you work. It is advisable to keep them in a pin cushion to keep them organized and avoid losing them.
4. *Seam ripper*: The seam ripper is a small but essential tool. Allows you to easily remove stitches when you make a mistake, without damaging the fabric.
5. *Tape measure*: The tape measure is essential for taking body measurements, measuring fabrics or working with patterns. It is flexible and allows curves to be measured easily.
6. *Chalk or fabric marker*: Used to mark sewing lines, darts or reference points on the fabric. These marks disappear with washing or can be easily erased.
7. *Large folder or file*: Very useful for saving and organizing patterns, preventing them from getting wrinkled or lost.
8. *Belt and armhole rule*: These rules are used especially in pattern making. They allow you to draw straight lines, armhole curves and other pattern shapes with precision.
9. *Thimble*: The thimble protects your finger when you sew by hand and helps you push the needle harder without pricking yourself.

Having these tools on hand will make sewing much easier, more comfortable and more precise, especially when you are just starting out.
